"Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store" — The Grinch
Posted almost 2 years ago by Kathy Baldridge
The Grinch got it right -- Christmas starts in your heart.
So yes, while we will meet together, break bread, enjoy old friends and make new ones, we are also participating in the Cenla Region Community Project -- items for hospice patients. Compassionate Care took care of both my mom and my dad at the end of their lives. I can tell you that finding sheets to fit a hospital bed in the middle of the thousand other things that are going on is stress. And, those sheets sometimes need to be changed more frequently than you like. Or having a fuzzy pair of "comfort" socks to put on that are colorful and soft. Or finding no rinse shampoo to make your mom feel beautiful. It's the small things........So, even if you can't stay the whole time -- Stop by, say Hi! and drop off your item.
Where: The GEM downtown
Time: 6-8 pm (You can come and go, but need to register)
