No March Meeting for Alexandria

I am sorry to announce there will be no March meeting.  The sponsor did not have enough time to get contracts signed between their company and the restaurant.  We will reschedule with them, but we do have one set up for April 12.  Working on making it a CE presentation.  So now having said that we do have some information to pass on to everyone.  

We want to make sure everyone is aware of the NP day at the Capital in Baton Rouge on April 25.  More information will be given at the meeting in April.  It would be great to have a great turnout from NP's across the state to show our legislators who we are and our numbers.  

I talked with our President, Kathy Baldridge, and she said the Health Policy conference was a success, especially with it being the first year.  There was a lot of great information presented.  Hopefully this conference will continue to grow in the coming years.

At our first meeting of the year in January, I touched on the fact that there is a NP foundation, called Louisiana Nurse Practitioner Foundation (LNPF).  This foundation is still very young and getting on its feet.  To help the foundation I have committed to help by organizing a golf tournament in our area.  I am narrowing down a date, hopefully this summer.  I am looking at a day in July.  If anyone is interested in helping with this endeavor, let me know.  The bulk of the money raised will be from sponsors, and I am sure that most of us have connections that would be willing to donate money for sponsorships of certain things in the tournament.  Any donations will be tax deductible.  

Again I am sorry there will be no meeting this month, but we have meetings scheduled every month through July with some months with 2 meetings.  If any of you have a representative that is asking about sponsoring a meeting, you can put them in contact with Summer or myself through the LANP website or you can have them contact me directly at (318) 541-5361.
